Protect the Oracle is a strategic game that requires 2 teams to maintain a balance between attack and defense in order to defeat the other.

The aim of the game is to kill all players of the opposing team. However, 1 player from each team is The Oracle. As long as The Oracle remains alive then the rest of the players on the team can respawn.

As a team you must find and kill the opposing team's Oracle while also protecting your own.

Before the game begins, players can choose their team as well as nominate themselves to play as The Oracle. When the timer ends, the clock starts counting down from 10 minutes as the game begins and players can select their class.




The Oracle

The name of the player who is the Oracle on your team is shown when the game begins. It can also be seen throughout the game on the Scoreboard. The Oracle plays as any regular player however if they die they cannot be brought back to life and the rest of the team won't be able to respawn.

The Oracle has double the health of other players, represented by Yellow Hearts. The Yellow Hearts of The Oracle cannot be healed if lost but regular hearts can be.

If you are playing as The Oracle you should aim to play more defensively to stay alive and allow your team to respawn. But try not to be found out by the other team!



Classes
In Protect the Oracle you can play as a variety of classes. Only one member of each team can play a single class, so be quick when choosing!

You can change your class during a game by right-clicking the Chain Chestplate in the Hotbar. After changing your class you will have to wait 60 seconds before changing again. While in combat you won't be allowed to change class.​
Each class has it's own abilties that can enable it to do more attack, damage or assistance to the team. Below you can find the starting level details of each class:



Knight Class

Equipped with an Iron Sword and Chestplate, the Knight protects their honour with hard hits as well as increased defense. Knight has the Power Fury ability, providing a temporary burst of higher damage.

The bow is not a toy and Archer definitely proves this. Their arrows can pack a punch, especially if they are tainted with Poison or Fire which adds an extra kick for anyone who crosses Archer's path.

A master of their craft, Sorcerer is always ready to do serious damage to those on the ground or in the air. They can use their Wither Blast ability to send a deadly missle in any direction. If that doens't get you, one blast from the Lightning Rod will.

Tread carefully as you never know if Detonator is near by. Detonator can place down Mines causing damage should an opponent make a wrong step. They can also place down Explosive dealing a painful punch to any opponent within its radius.

When it comes to stealth, no one does it better than Ghost. With the ability to Vanish as well as the ability to Hover, Ghost can attack from the skies and the shadows leaving opponents stunned. Be aware however, as Ghost's position can be revealed by the Mindbender.

The Mindbender is able to control forces beyond the control of others. Not only can they use their Forcefield to protect themselves and repell those who dare to come close, but they can also Identify the location of any member of the other team, including forcing hidden Ghosts to reveal themselves.

Upgrades

When in the lobby, you can upgrade your classes in the Protect The Oracle Store by right-clicking on the Emerald in the Hotbar. Collect coins by playing games of Protect The Oracle that can be spent on upgrades for classes.

Upgrades provide the opportunity to increase the power of each class to give you boosts in attack, defense or abilities.
